It was a stellar night for hotel restaurants at last night’s annual Michelin Guide Ceremony held at the Convention Centre Dublin.
A total of 1,210 establishments is included in The Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2026, with 230 receiving Stars – 20 of those earning one Michelin Star for the first time, and an additional two restaurants awarded two Michelin Stars.
But it’s been a particularly striking year for hotel F&B, with nine of the newly announced one-star venues located within hotels. We weren’t surprised to see a nod for Labombe by Trivet at Como Metropolitan London, which is our Supper Issue 46 cover story, and we’re pleased that Michael Caines, who we interviewed in Supper Issue 45, has been included for his latest outing, Michael Caines at The Stafford, only five months after opening. The chef also retained a Star for his Lympstone Manor for the eighth consecutive year.
“To be awarded a Michelin star at The Stafford London is a truly special moment,” says Caines. “It’s the first in the hotel’s history, and a first for my debut London residence, making it even more meaningful. Michelin recognition is always about the collective effort — the passion, discipline, and consistency of the entire team, so it’s a proud moment to share.”
Elsewhere, and husband-and-wife team Tom and Matilda Tsappis are celebrating after their restaurant with rooms, Killicrankie House in Perthshire, was presented with its first Michelin Star, Somssi by Jihun Kim at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair was awarded one Star for its Koren-inspired chef’s table experience, and Ugly Butterfly by Adam Handling at Headland Hotel Newquay was rewarded for its approach to hyperlocal Cornish cuisine.
There was also good news for those who retained their Michelin Stars for another year: Yannick Alléno for Pavyllon London within Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane; Cedar Tree at Farlam Hall; and Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall among many others.
