Fine2Dine and One&Only Cape Town craft a fresh take on South African braai
Fine2Dine has teamed up with One&Only Cape Town to bring authentic South African braai culture to life at ROOI, the hotel’s signature restaurant.
Under the guidance of Chef Terrence Ford, the dining destination reimagines the traditional braii through the lens of open-fire cooking and fine dining technique.
Drawing inspiration from local terroir, with bold smoky flavours, the menu at ROOI pays homage to Cape Town’s cultural heritage while still aiming to push creative boundaries.
Each dish is plated on selected pieces from Fine2Dine collections – Curvo Forest, Aurora Green and Kolon – characterised by their earthy tones and rustic textures.
These natural palettes not only complement the vibrant colours of flame-grilled ingredients but also meet the rigorous demands of a professional kitchen in terms of durability and hygiene.
“Braai is more than a cooking method. It’s about charred flavours, local Rooikrans wood with rich aromas, and cooking with natural elements. Braai connects us to heritage,” says Ford. “At ROOI, tableware isn’t just a plate – it’s a part of the story.”
