Spotlight: Tribute by Rona
Erik Lorincz, a celebrated bartender and the mastermind behind London cocktail bar Kwānt Mayfair, is known for blending tradition with modernity in both his bartending approach and design philosophy.
With a career spanning decades, Lorincz won the prestigious Diageo World Class Bartender of the Year award in 2010. But his journey began in Slovakia, where a passion for mixology took root, later blossoming at iconic venues like The American Bar at The Savoy in London.
His design philosophy for the Erik Lorincz Collection by Rona glassware is deeply influenced by Japanese minimalism, a style that focuses on simplicity, clean lines and a sense of quiet elegance. Drawing inspiration from Japanese design principles, Lorincz creates pieces that are not just functional, but thoughtful and serene in their beauty. Each glass in the collection is a testament to the Japanese ethos of ‘wabi-sabi’ – celebrating the beauty in imperfection and the quiet elegance of minimal design. The use of premium lead-free crystal ensures clarity and brilliance, while the sleek, minimalist lines reflect the timelessness of Japanese aesthetic values.

Rona has not only separated product design and manufacturing for products used in the hospitality sector from products for domestic use, but also decided to deal with the entire catering sector as it really is – with all its specific quirks, attention to detail, special demands of the hospitality world and the needs of its partners. Rona is destined, through the rules of catering, to live not simply in a supplier–customer relationship but a symbiotic, mutually beneficial long-term partnership.
This is how, more than 20 years ago, the concept of a professional crystalline range made specifically for the catering sector was born at Rona. It soon became a unique project at the company, coined Rona2Serve.
