JW Marriott Grosvenor House London renovates steakhouse and bourbon bar

JW Marriott Grosvenor House London has unveiled a refreshed steakhouse and bourbon bar.

The interiors draw inspiration from classic American steakhouses, with dark wood panelling, rust-coloured furnishings and intimate booths. Checkerboard flooring references early 20th-century New York, while butcher-style blackboards displaying daily selections highlight the restaurant’s focus on quality ingredients.

Executive Chef Patrick O’Sullivan leads the kitchen, drawing on experience gained in London and San Francisco. Since his appointment in 2025, he has shaped a menu grounded in American steakhouse classics, built around carefully sourced produce including premium USDA cuts from Creekstone Farms in Kansas, Australian Wagyu and selected UK-reared beef.

Signature dishes include Maryland-style crab cakes, baked Orkney scallops and a towering seafood platter of lobster, crab, jumbo shrimp and oysters. Beyond steaks, there are comforting classics such as braised Angus short ribs, grilled jumbo shrimp and blackened salmon. No visit is complete without the JW Cheesecake, served more than 40,000 times each year and a firm favourite among both regular guests and newcomers.

Elsewhere, the Bourbon Bar features a bespoke cabinet crafted from reclaimed barrels, displaying over 500 rare and vintage bourbons – including exclusive and pre-prohibition bottles – curated by in-house expert Robert Sreter.

As the largest collection outside the US, guests can discover pours through tastings, masterclasses and menu pairings offered throughout the year. The bar also serves a roster of bourbon‑based cocktails, championing the spirit’s versatility across smoky, spiced and modern interpretations.

Guests can reserve and store their own labelled bottle for future visits, while the Old Fashioned Trolley, created in partnership with American distillery Buffalo Trace, brings added theatre with personalised aged or smoked pours served tableside.

To build on the recent refurbishment and pay homage to its American heritage, JW Steakhouse and Bourbon Bar will host a series of tastings, masterclasses and limited-time menus throughout 2026. Seasonal dishes inspired by regional American flavours and occasions including Independence Day and Thanksgiving will feature heavily, and during warmer months, dining experiences will extend onto the JW Garden terrace overlooking Hyde Park.

“The refurbishment of JW Steakhouse and The Bourbon Bar reflects our ongoing commitment to evolving the guest experience at Grosvenor House,” says General Manager at the hotel, Stuart Bowery. “These spaces now feel even more connected to the hotel’s heritage while offering the comfort, craft and atmosphere today’s guests value. The new programme of dining and bourbon experiences gives both returning guests and first-time visitors fresh reasons to visit Park Lane.”
