Nikki Beach Hospitality Group opens Lucia Marbella at Don Carlos Marbella Hotel
Nikki Beach Hospitality Group has announced the opening of Lucia Marbella at Don Carlos Marbella Hotel on the Costa del Sol.
Following its debut on La Croisette in Cannes in 2024 and a preview in Marbella as Lucia Summer Club in 2025, Lucia now unveils a permanent Spanish home. New custom sun loungers surround the pool, with updated furnishings throughout the space. A second bar has also been introduced inside the property’s grotto, carved into a cave-like structure just steps from the pool and restaurant.
The project marks a milestone for 26-year-old Remi Viale, Nikki Beach Hospitality Group’s Global Architectural and Interior Design Manager. Defined by custom pieces, bold colour and graphic pattern work, the design has already been recognised at the 2025 Built Design Awards.

The culinary programme now presents Lucia’s full menu under the direction of Alessandro Pizza, Corporate Executive Chef of Nikki Beach Hospitality Group. Rooted in Mediterranean traditions, the menu reflects the brand’s cuisine du soleil, highlighting sun-led ingredients and a balanced approach.
Signature dishes sit alongside creations adapted to the local region, including chicken Milanese cacio e pepe with breaded corn-fed chicken breast, romaine lettuce, cacio e pepe dressing, crispy bacon, parmesan and croutons; and bisou baguette with entrecôte beef, tomatoes, honey Dijon and French-style cornichons. This is complemented by new experiences tailored to the region, including Spanish olive oil tasting workshops and tardeo, a Spanish-style aperitivo.
“The Lucia concept was created to celebrate sunshine, colour, music, maximalism and the joy of coming together in a beautiful space,” says Lucia Penrod, co-founder, owner and CEO of Nikki Beach Hospitality Group. “As we continue to grow the brand, we are drawn to destinations that reflect that same vibrant spirit. Marbella feels like the perfect place for Lucia to flourish. There is something magical about the Costa del Sol, and we could not imagine a more natural setting to share this next chapter of our story.”
