The Sloane Club in London to launch Bistro 1922
The Sloane Club in London will launch Bistro 1922, an all-day neighbourhood bistro next to the private members’ club with rooms that will be open to the public.
Positioned as a modern Chelsea bistro, Bistro 1922 will serve a British-focused menu led by Executive Head Chef George Scott-Toft, working alongside Director of Food & Beverage Gordy McIntyre. The team is developing relationships with local producers and suppliers, including Rockfish, Cultjar, HG Walter and Curing Rebels.
The interior will double as a rotating gallery, with artwork curated in partnership with Chelsea-based specialists Hommage. The collection will include original posters and lithographs, with works by artists including Pablo Picasso, Raoul Dufy and Damien Hirst changing throughout the year.

The bistro takes its name from the year The Sloane Club was founded by Princess Helena as the Ex-Service Women’s Club, providing a meeting place for women returning from the First World War. It follows Café 1922, a neighbourhood café and deli launched as the club’s first public-facing venture.
“Bistro 1922 is an exciting next step for us. Café 1922 showed us there was a real appetite to bring the spirit of The Sloane Club beyond our members and into the neighbourhood, and Bistro 1922 gives us the opportunity to take that idea much further,” says Neena Jivraj-Stevenson, Managing Director of The Sloane Club. “We wanted Bistro 1922 to have its own personality – more energy and the unmistakable character of a great London bistro – while staying true to the things that have always mattered to us: generous hospitality, good food, conversation and a sense of belonging. It’s a new chapter for 1922, but one that feels completely at home in Chelsea.”
