First Look: Fayre at The Shepherd Mayfair
The Shepherd Mayfair has unveiled a first look at Fayre, its signature neighbourhood restaurant, ahead of the hotel’s opening in October.
Located on the ground floor, the 62-cover restaurant is inspired by the great neighbourhood dining rooms of London. The menu celebrates seasonal British produce, familiar favourites and refined European classics. The interior features banquette seating, dark timber panelling and a rich berry-toned palette inspired by mulberry and blueberry hues. Wall coverings by urban artist Adam Ellis animate the space with theatrical scenes that reinterpret the historic May Fair gatherings.

Elsewhere in the hotel, designed by European studio Shepherd&, The Lounge is an all-day café and bar, moving from morning coffee and pastries to casual lunches and evening drinks. With 46 covers, an outdoor terrace and a dedicated street-facing hatch serving takeaway refreshments, the space is designed as much for the neighbourhood as for hotel guests. Interiors feature forest green velvet upholstery, natural timber finishes and geometric detailing, alongside black and white illustrated vignettes by British artist John Broadley. There’s also a bespoke Moatwood gin trolley for a tableside serve, crafted from timber sourced from a fallen tree in Kensington Palace Gardens and hand-finished by a craftsman in Hackney.

Located on the lower ground floor, Teddy’s completes the F&B offering with a late-night cocktail bar. Named after Edward Shepherd, the 18th-century developer of Shepherd Market, the offers 72 covers, with deep green and blue interiors, commissioned murals and a subtle Parisian influence.
The cocktail list draws on lesser-known classics from the 1930s, reimagined through a contemporary lens. Five signature serves are named after phrases coined by Edward Bulwer-Lytton, the Victorian writer and Mayfair resident whose literary legacy is woven into the bar’s identity. The back bar spans aged Scotch, Japanese and American whiskies, an extensive tequila and mezcal selection, cognac, armagnac and calvados, alongside a champagne list ranging from Bollinger to Louis Roederer Cristal.
