Locke London Canary Wharf opens rooftop restaurant, bar and lounge
Locke will open a new rooftop restaurant, bar and lounge on the 19th floor of its waterfront hotel in Canary Wharf.
Named Alto 19, operated by White Rabbit Projects and designed by Holloway Li, the 100-cover venue will pair modern Mediterranean cooking with seasonal cocktails and a late-night music programme.
Executive Chef Chris Dargavel leads the kitchen, joining from Daphne’s in Kensington, where he spent three years as Head Chef. Previously, he held the same position at J Sheekey in Covent Garden for eight years and was part of the opening teams at Scott’s in Mayfair and Roux in Parliament Square. Having arrived in London at 17, Dargavel began his career at Le Caprice, developing an ingredient-led approach to cooking that informs the menu at Alto 19.

Dishes range from cacio e pepe gnocco fritto and bluefin tuna crudo to freshly made pastas and heritage chicken milanese. Larger plates designed for sharing include salt-baked branzino and dry-aged ribeye cotoletta, while desserts span warm dark chocolate mousse with Valpolicella red wine and blackberry soft serve.
Locke CEO Alastair Thomann comments: “At Locke, we are always looking for ways to enhance the guest experience by offering something unique, and Alto 19 provides just that bringing together incredible food and drink, breathtaking views of the city and a vibrant atmosphere. It perfectly complements the property’s stylish yet relaxed approach, creating a space where guests and locals alike can connect and unwind and Alto 19 embodies just that.”
