BCB London 2026 reimagines the traditional trade show

BCB London returns in 2026 with a programme designed to feel less like a traditional trade show and more like a blueprint for where hospitality is heading.

Billed as a “holistic development journey,” it moves beyond drinks trends to focus on the people behind the bar and how they think, work and evolve.

Structured across three pillars, Core Skills, Soft Skills & Career Progression and Heart, the programme reflects an industry placing increasing value on both technical ability and long-term sustainability. Expect everything from sensory training and distillation insights to ergonomics, communication and digital storytelling, all geared towards building more resilient, well-rounded careers behind the bar.

That shift comes into focus across the seminar programme. Jordan Duncan questions traditional, top-down training models in favour of more collaborative, purpose-led approaches, while Mikey Pendergast explores the neuroscience of flavour, unpacking how memory and subconscious cues shape the way guests experience a drink. Meanwhile, Nc’nean Distillery’s Master Blender Matthew Hastings turns a critical eye to cocktail competitions, examining how they can move beyond spectacle to deliver real value for both bartenders and brands.

Beyond the talks, BCB London is dialling up the energy on the show floor. New for 2026, a partnership with the World Flair Association (WFA) introduces a dedicated show bartending area, with live performances from world champions, drop-in training sessions aligned with the WFA grading syllabus and practical demonstrations of core techniques.

The ever-popular Pouring Contest also returns, inviting bartenders to put their speed and accuracy to the test in a lively, crowd-drawing format, hosted by Kevin Armstrong and Daniel Waddy of Satan’s Whiskers.

Meanwhile, the Park Street University Stage broadens the conversation further, tackling everything from innovation in traditional spirits to market expansion and the shifting state of the industry.
