Set within four 19th-century buildings in the heart of city, Mandarin Oriental Milan combines historic architecture with contemporary luxury through an interior concept by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel Interiors.
Paolo Castelli, operated by Giglio 1973, delivered an extensive contract fit-out across the hotel’s main public areas, including the lobby, reception, lounges, hall, restaurants and other hospitality spaces.

The scope encompassed the production and installation of fixed and loose furniture, bespoke furnishings, wall and ceiling cladding, timber boiseries, marble finishes, flooring, lighting and custom-made architectural elements. Paolo Castelli also oversaw site coordination and project management, working alongside the other specialist contractors involved in the development.
At the heart of the hotel, the Mandarin Bar is defined by its distinctive polygonal, U-shaped counter. Geometric black-and-white marble mosaics and refined timber panelling frame a carefully considered arrangement of sofas, armchairs, tables and bespoke stools.

Combining artisanal expertise, technological innovation and an in-depth knowledge of materials, Paolo Castelli develops indoor and outdoor collections alongside bespoke and turnkey solutions for luxury hospitality, retail, residential and public spaces.
Its contract expertise spans the entire project process, from feasibility studies and value engineering to technical development, custom production, site coordination, installation and after-sales support. This integrated approach enables Paolo Castelli to deliver complex, highly customised interiors with precision, craftsmanship and a distinctly Italian design sensibility.
