Bar Lab to open second Hoja Taqueria at Generator Miami

Following its success with Broken Shaker, 27 and The Exchange, Bar Lab continues to partner with Generator Group with the first Generator collaboration, a second Miami location of Hoja Taqueria, which will be within Generator Miami at 31st and Collins, debuting 15 September 2021.

Hoja Taqueria Miami Beach will feature authentic Oaxacan flavours with a new dining experience complete with a curated cocktail list from Bar Director Christine Weisman.

The partnership will present traditional Mexican tacos, burritos, and quesadillas, appealing to guests, locals, and industry alike in a mystical indoor as well as outdoor setting that will act as an extension of the laidback Generator boutique hotel/hostel setting.

The Bar Lab team was inspired by travels to Oaxaca, artisanal food and mysticism and sought to bring a piece of that authentic Mexican experience to Miami Beach. With the first location based in Downtown Miami, Hoja Taqueria Miami Beach will feature a new bistro-style service, both indoor and outdoor seating, a private dining room and a full-service bar with an expansive, curated cocktail list.

The ethos of the entire restaurant is focused on respecting one of the most important ingredients in Mexican culture: corn. The tacos will be served on corn tortillas made in-house using masa from corn sourced directly from family-owned farms in the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico. To repay the labour of love these family-farmers pour into cultivating this heirloom corn, a portion of Hoja Taqueria’s profits will go directly back to the farmers to create a supportive and sustainable farm-to-table cycle.

Hoja Taqueria Miami Beach will not only offer unique menu items highlighting local ingredients and recipes inspired by Oaxacan traditions and culture, but as part of the Bar Lab portfolio, will feature an exciting and innovative Mexican-inspired cocktail menu crafted by renowned mixologist Christine Wiseman. Using authentic flavours, spices and ingredients, drinks like Banana Mole Colada will complement the food.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Hoja Taqueria to the Generator family,” comments Alastair Thomann, Chief Executive Officer of both Generator and Freehand Hotels. “We are proud to continue our partnership with Bar Lab with this authentic Oaxacan concept, and we are confident that Hoja Taqueria will become a staple for our guests and the Miami Beach community alike.”
