Crafted at Powdermills unveils The Pub

Crafted has unveiled The Pub, a standalone venue opening this November at Crafted at Powdermills in Battle, Hastings.

The space aims to reimagine the traditional British pub with a focus on wood-fired cooking, outdoor grilling, local drinks, and approachable cocktails.

The Pub is attached to the main Crafted property but open to the public, not just hotel guests or members. The all-day venue will serve local English beers and wines alongside a playful cocktail menu, including no- and low-alcohol options. Its food offering features seasonal cuts, pizzas, and dishes prepared over a wood-fired oven and outdoor grill.

Crafted at Powdermills is the debut project in Crafted’s series of life-friendly hotels and clubs. Scheduled to open in late 2025, the East Sussex property sits on a seven-acre private lake surrounded by ancient woodland and wildflower pastures. The hotel will offer outdoor activities such as cold-water dips, paddleboarding, kayaking, forest yoga, and lakeside saunas, alongside a calendar of creative and wellness-focused events.

“With The Pub, we’re setting the tone for how Crafted will feel – thoughtfully curated, relaxed and rooted in great hospitality,” comments COO, Joel Williams. “This team brings a brilliant balance of skill and vision, and I’m proud to be working alongside them to bring the wider concept to life.”

“We’re building something special at Crafted at Powdermills – a place where great local produce, some even grown here onsite, thoughtful cooking, and relaxed, generous hospitality all come together,” adds Executive Chef at Crafted, Neil Armstrong.“ The Pub will set the tone: rooted in British traditions but with a modern energy. I can’t wait for people to experience it.”
