Design Hotels is collaborating with multidisciplinary residency and Sicilian kitchen Casa Lawa, with a debut retreat series scheduled to begin this autumn.
The culinary-focused itinerary will take place at Palazzo Daniele in Puglia, a 19th century aristocratic home where contemporary art and historic architecture converge. Attendees will stay in one of the 15 guestrooms.
Curated by Casa Lawa, the retreat will include a masterclass exploring one of Italy’s most iconic and deceptively simple dishes: pasta with salsa pomodoro, using fresh, local ingredients, ancient Apulian techniques and flour from heritage grains. Guests will also learn how to prepare traditional ricotta and primosale using time-honoured techniques still preserved by Salento’s local artisans.
“This collaboration with Design Hotels feels like a natural extension of everything we’ve been building at Casa Lawa,” says Casa Lawa founder Lukas Lewandowski. “We both believe in the power of hospitality to bring people together—around food, around ideas, around shared experiences. I’m excited to co-create spaces where guests aren’t just passing through, but truly connecting—with the land, with one another, and with themselves.”
Booking opens is open for what promises to be an in-depth exploration of contemporary Italian hospitality. Additional retreats will be announced later in the year.
