Grand Resort Bad Ragaz unveils two new restaurants and innovative bar concept

Grand Resort Bad Ragaz in Switzerland has unveiled two new restaurants and an innovative bar concept as part of a renovation of Grand Hotel Hof Ragaz.

With the classic Italian restaurant Nesso, Thai restaurant Sanook, and destination bar The Bar, the resort is embracing a more casual dining philosophy centred on sharing and lightness, complemented by compact menus. The new additions join a culinary portfolio that includes Michelin-starred Sven Wassmer’s Memories, as well as Igniv by Andreas Caminada and Verve by Sven.

Nesso will welcome guests with the warmth and conviviality of an Italian family kitchen. The menu is designed for sharing, while the open kitchen allows diners to watch pizzette, risotto and fresh pasta being prepared daily. Leading the kitchen is chef Nicola Montalti, whose appointment marks the first of several new additions joining the resort this winter. He is bringing with him three Italian chefs, as well as his long-standing front-of-house partner, Maître Roberto Cippolino.

Elsewhere, Sanook takes its name from the Thai word for joy, pleasure, and a love of life, a feeling that permeates the restaurant. Inspired by the vibrant energy of Bangkok’s eateries, its elegant L-shaped counter connects the open kitchen to the dining room, placing guests at the heart of the action. Designed for sharing, the menu draws on the full breadth of Thai culinary tradition, featuring specialties from the grill, wok and traditional clay pot.

With The Bar, Grand Resort Bad Ragaz has created a stage for the resort’s defining natural element: its thermal water. Rather than simply incorporating it as an ingredient, the thermal water forms the foundation of an extensive menu of signature cocktails. Alcohol-free creations are given equal prominence alongside classic cocktails. Inspired by the tradition of classic cigar lounges, the integrated Salon Davidoff provides an exclusive space offering a curated selection of cigars and rare spirits.
