Great Scotland Yard Hotel brings the Amalfi Coast to London with new afternoon tea offer
The Parlour at Great Scotland Yard Hotel has launched a new afternoon tea in collaboration with British perfumers Floris London, bringing a taste of the Amalfi Coast to the UK.
The afternoon tea is inspired by Floris London’s ‘Bergamotto di Positano’ fragrance, a refreshing blend of bergamot entwined with mandarin and balmy marine notes, orange blossom, vanilla and amber.
The top notes of the fragrance have been skilfully infused into the menu through the introduction of ingredients typical of the region and a re-interpretation of signature popular dishes of the Amalfitan culinary tradition. From frittata di zucchine, particularly popular along the Amalfi Coast during summer, to stracciatella, smoked salmon and caviar bruschetta, each dish tells a story about the region.
Warm scones are served with clotted cream and orange jam, while sweet treats include the almond and cocoa Torta Caprese, Capri’s signature flourless cake, and Amalfi ‘Delizia al Limone’. A traditional babà with orange blossom, popular in the houses of nonna along the coast during the spring, is also on offer.
