Ham Yard Hotel activates terrace for Wimbledon with London Essence

For the second year, Firmdale’s Ham Yard Hotel is capitalising on the summer sporting calendar with its ‘Centre Court-Yard’ activation, a Wimbledon-themed terrace experience in collaboration with premium mixer brand, London Essence.

Positioned on the hotel’s leafy outdoor terrace in the heart of Soho, the concept blends live screenings of The Championships with curated F&B experiences. A large screen broadcasts daily matches, with guests able to tune in via wireless headphones.

The space is dressed with strawberry plants and floral installations, and the drinks offer is led by a limited-edition cocktail list co-developed with London Essence. Highlights include:

Port Serve Fizz – a spritz featuring Quinta de la Rosa rosé port, Asterley Bros. Bitter Aperitivo, homemade red berry shrub and London Essence Rose and Raspberry Crafted Soda.

Punto de Partido – a spicy, smoky paloma style cocktail with Lost Explorer Espadin 8yr old mezcal, Ancho Reyes, spicy agave (think hot honey) and London Essence Pink Grapefruit Crafted Soda.

Rhubarb and Custard Cup – a non-alcoholic cocktail made with Everleaf Mountain, Seedlip Grove, rhubarb syrup, strawberry jam and London Essence Soda Water.

A seasonal afternoon tea is also served in picnic-style hampers, featuring items such as poached and smoked salmon on a seaweed scone, Ham Yard sausage rolls and strawberries and cream baked cheesecake. An enhanced package includes a Port Serve Fizz or Rathfinny Classic Cuvée (2019).

For the Finals weekend, bookable packages offer prime tables, a Wimbledon Spritz, and homemade strawberries and cream ice cream.
