Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons plans redevelopment as Raymond Blanc transitions role

Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, A Belmond Hotel, Oxfordshire, is set to embark on a redevelopment next year, as Raymond Blanc transitions to the role of Lifetime Ambassador.

The manor house hotel, known for its Michelin-starred garden gastronomy and founded by Raymond Blanc OBE in 1984, will begin its transformation in January 2026, with a grand reopening scheduled for summer 2027.

Le Manoir‘s approach to sustainable and seasonal gastronomy, championed by Blanc, has inspired a movement within British hospitality over the past four decades. As a result, Le Manoir has secured two Michelin stars in every year since its opening. The strategic redevelopment promises,“a retreat immersed in nature, elevating accommodation, culinary experiences, and garden landscaping.”

As a culinary training ground, the property has seen many of its alumni achieve their own success and accolades globally, carrying forward the values and standards that began in this Oxfordshire haven, such as Marco Pierre White, Michael Caines, Ollie Dabbous, Luke Selby and Eric Chavot.

Le Manoir is the latest in a slew of rejuvenation projects across the Belmond portfolio, including the historic Villa San Michele, A Belmond Hotel, Florence, Splendido, A Belmond Hotel, Portofino and Maroma, A Belmond Hotel and Riviera Maya.

Meanwhile, after 41 years of leadership, Blanc’s role will evolve, while ensuring his continued influence on the future of Le Manoir. In the months prior to the temporary closure, guests are invited to join him for a season of experiences at the countryside property.

“Le Manoir has been the canvas of my life’s work, a sanctuary where passion, excellence, and beauty have come to life every single day for over four decades,” comments Blanc. “Together with my extraordinary team, we have built something truly timeless.”

“The redevelopment will allow Le Manoir to evolve for the future, to meet the needs of the modern guest while staying true to its soul and values. It is not simply a renovation, but a reinvestment in sustainability, in creativity, and in the spirit of excellence that has defined us,” he concludes. “As we begin this transformation, my role too will evolve. I remain deeply committed to guiding and nurturing the spirit of Le Manoir, as its founder and Lifetime Ambassador, with the same love and vision that have shaped it since the very beginning.”
