New York-based Peruvian restaurant Llama Inn will bring its signature dishes and cocktails to the rooftop restaurant at The Hoxton, Shoreditch in September.

The opening is in partnership with Carte Blanched, Ennismore’s in-house restaurant studio responsible for the food and beverage concepts in the company’s global portfolio of hotels, including The Hoxton.

Led by Juan Correa and Chef Erik Ramirez, Llama Inn has become a cult favourite on New York’s restaurant scene. The new London outpost will carry the spirit of the Brooklyn original, with a menu that draws inspiration from Erik’s Peruvian-American background.

Dishes are founded in the diverse culinary heritage of Peru but seen through a New York lens, shaped and expanded by Ramirez’s experience growing up and working in the city.

Llama Inn London will initially open for lunch and dinner, with a weekend brunch offering to be launched later in the year. The kitchen will be headed up by Marcin Maliczowski, who has worked at famed Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio’s Barcelona restaurant Yakumanaka.

The opening menu comprises a line-up of signature snacks, ceviche, small plates, and larger sharing dishes such as Arroz con mariscos, with tortillas, huacaina, and chalaca; Pork shoulder bun with sweet potato, salsa criolla and spicy mayo; and Lomo saltado with chive crepe, pickled ajies, avocado, and rocoto cream.

The cocktail menu will feature many of Bar Director Natasha Bermudez’s signature serves, including the ‘Chupetini (one shot martini)’ – Japanese gin, dry vermouth, umami bomb, blue cheese olives – and the ‘Llama Del Rey’, made from pisco quebranta, dark rum, red wine, chicha morada, and pineapple.
