Northcote launches luxury catering and events arm

Northcote, the restaurant and boutique hotel in the Ribble Valley, has launched Blooming Onion Bespoke Events, a catering venture that aims to bring luxury, bespoke menus and event planning services to homes and businesses across the UK.

Under the direction of Chef Patron-Director Lisa Goodwin-Allen, the service will deliver gourmet experiences for any event, occasion or location, from dinners to corporate and private parties.

A development of the longstanding Northcote at Home catering arm of the restaurant, Blooming Onion will expand the offering, with more versatility in style of food and the type of events it can cater for. The team will craft everything from fine-dining menus to street-food feasts, BBQs and themed buffets.

All catering for Blooming Onion is undertaken by Northcote’s kitchen brigade, with the catering team employed directly by the hotel. Available nationwide, Blooming Onion can operate in any location, even if there is no kitchen in place. The base for dishes will be prepared in Northcote’s kitchen and then transported to the location using a newly acquired refrigerated van.

“Clients will provide the criteria, and we’ll provide the magic,” explains Goodwin-Allen. “The name Northcote at Home put us in a box, meaning that it was very much about creating Northcote food in a home environment. With Blooming Onion, we will do anything from a barbecue to a canapé event, or something more elaborate, whether it is in the home, a corporate location or at another venue.”

“All of the team members engaged in Blooming Onion projects will be Northcote F&B team members to ensure the delivery is consistent, genuine and matches Northcote’s high standards,” adds Craig Bancroft, Managing Director at Northcote. “We will aim to grow the team at Northcote as the catering arm of the business expands.”
