Park Lane Copenhagen welcomes Yves at Park Lane
Copenhagen has recently welcomed its newest restaurant, Yves at Park Lane.
Part of the newly transformed boutique hotel Park Lane Copenhagen, the restaurant has been conceptualised by designer Camilla van den Tempel.
Inside, guests are enveloped in an atmosphere that blends Danish design traditions with an international flair, as though you have been transported from Strandvejen to the vibrant heart of New York City.
From the lobby, guests have direct access to the restaurant, where the space is anchored by a wine bar crafted from burnished brass – a material that recurs throughout the restaurant’s design. The walls are adorned with silk coverings, and the custom-designed furniture in calming tones creating a warm atmosphere.
All the furniture in the restaurant is custom-designed by Camilla van den Tempel, from the plush lounge chairs and sofas to the elegant dining chairs and stone tables. The muted colour palette is complemented by a touch of green in the lively, distinctive flooring.
Back when Camilla van den Tempel designed the restaurant, the operator was still unknown, which posed a challenge in creating a versatile space that could accommodate a variety of concepts. Therefore, it was designed to embrace multiple functions and moods – transitioning from breakfast restaurant to wine bar.
“When designing a space with an undefined concept, it’s all about striking a balance between elegance and functionality. It needs to be adaptable yet possess its own identity – it must never feel predictable or uninspiring,” she explains . “We worked with a variety of materials such as bronzed brass and stone, contributing to the ambiance we aim to create. The design embodies a sense of timelessness while remaining relevant and reflective of the narrative we tell throughout the hotel.”
