Rakxa, a soon-to-be launched medical retreat, has outlined details of its integrated wellness programmes and health-focused culinary offering.
Slated to open in December, the resort is the result of a three-way partnership between Minor Hotels Group, M.K Real Estate Development and VitalLife Scientific Wellness Clinic.
Set in Bangkok’s preserved ‘Green Lung’, a protected jungle-clad island on the Chao Phraya River, the enhanced wellness resort, which encompasses 40 garden villas, 20 pool villas, two private residences and two restaurants, is the first of its kind in Thailand to offer tailor-made programmes that combines advanced science-backed health treatments with traditional holistic therapies.
Alongside wellness programmes focused on gut health, immunity and stress reduction, Rakxa’s dining experiences are geared towards sustainable eating and exploring the origins of common ingredients.
The resort’s approach to food is guided by an anti-inflammatory philosophy and based on an understanding that gut and body imbalances can be caused by modern diets, and both restaurants will serve menus that strive to reduce and eliminate harmful toxins in the body.
Unam, set to open at launch, will serve honest and healthy cuisine throughout the day with a selection of Mediterranean-inspired dishes based on whole, organic ingredients, complemented by sustainable meats and seafood, and raw, sugar-free desserts.
The offering will be supported by an in-house nutritionist, who will offer guidance and assistance, making for an innovative dining experience, whilst making sure to keep on course with guests individual health programmes.
Meanwhile, Ukhao, the resort’s specialty Asian restaurant will open in 2021 and will draw inspiration from local ancient wisdom, using traditional recipes from Thailand and its neighbouring countries.
Growing an array of herbs, spices and edible flowers in the resort’s gardens and offering one-to-one guidance on their collection of bespoke wellness brews, Rakxa’s fresh, nutrient-dense culinary offering has been designed to improve wellbeing at every level.
