Cultar, the Scottish hospitality group led by Paul Charalambous and Chris Charalambous, has announced a new partnership with Machrihanish Dunes resort.

Cultar is a collection of progressive, seasonally focused restaurants in Glasgow, including Michelin-starred Cail Bruich, The Clarence, Brett and The Caravan Shop. The partnership falls under the group’s consultancy division and will focus on enhancing the food and beverage experience across The Village at Machrihanish Dunes in Campbeltown. The project is being led by Paul and Chris Charalambous, with Rachel Taylor, Cultar’s Digital Content & Marketing Co-ordinator, overseeing the marketing and customer experience strategy.

The partnership will shape food and beverage operations across the resort’s restaurants and hospitality spaces, including the Kintyre Restaurant and the Old Clubhouse Pub. Under Cultar’s guidance, menus will focus on elevated comfort food rooted in Scottish culinary traditions and interpreted through a contemporary lens.

The group will bring its produce-led approach to the offering, working with longstanding suppliers including Campbells Prime Meats while also sourcing ingredients from producers across Kintyre. These include seafood from Kintyre Smokehouse, shellfish from Loch Fyne, oysters from Cumbrae and venison from Skipness. Service standards will reflect Cultar’s commitment to Scottish hospitality, with an emphasis on creating a welcoming atmosphere through warm and authentic service.

The Village at Machrihanish Dunes Resort is a coastal resort in the Kintyre region. Accommodation is provided through the Ugadale Hotel & Cottages and the Royal Hotel Campbeltown, which overlooks Campbeltown Harbour. A relaunch of the Harbourview Grille at the Royal Hotel is expected in late 2026.
