Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok unveils cocktail menu celebrating the firefly

Firefly Bar at Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok has unveiled a new cocktail menu, In Pursuit of the Firefly, a collection inspired by the creature at the heart of the bar’s identity.

Where previous menus explored the firefly’s travels through taste and experience, this edition focuses on understanding its life and significance. The menu is divided into four chapters: Etymology, Ecosystem, Luminescence and Mythology.

In Etymology, Where Is The Cricket represents the three parts of a firefly working in harmony, combining gin, ginger falernum, cricket protein, chocolate, banana, kaffir lime, clarified milk and spices. Blue Moon in the Ecosystem chapter captures the moment fireflies illuminate the sky, using whisky, tea, peach, blue spirulina and Amontillado.

In Luminescence, Tres Elementos mirrors the firefly’s shifting light with pineapple, kiwi and tomato, while Gorgeous Lady in Red reflects its silent allure with gin, vodka, hibiscus, pomegranate Shiraz reduction, Japanese liqueur and citrus.

Each cocktail is presented with illustrations of its appearance, glassware and garnish, alongside descriptive flavour notes and a visual flavour map. Three ultra-luxury cocktails showcase premium spirits such as The Macallan, Clase Azul Reposado and Louis XIII, and a zero-proof selection offers drinks built around local fruits, teas and spices.

The cocktail menu is complemented by an extensive spirits collection of more than 370 bottles, available by 45ml pour or by the bottle. Guests can also explore a Tipple Trolley with martinis, negronis and classics, or a Build Your Own Gin & Tonic experience, which allows personalisation of tonic, garnish and aroma with Silpin Edible Perfume.

“A magical sight to uphold, fireflies are becoming increasingly rare, especially in a city like Bangkok,” says Beverage Manager, Dicky Hartono. “This menu celebrates and honours the firefly while raising awareness of its importance.”
