A raft of enhanced restaurants and gastronomic experiences are at the heart of The St. Regis Le Morne Resort, Mauritius, which is set to reopen this May.
Set between the dramatic Le Morne Brabant Mountain, a Unesco World Heritage Site, and one of the Indian Ocean’s most coveted beaches, the resort brings the brand’s celebrated traditions and sophisticated dining to the island’s best beachfront address. During the rebrand from the JW Marriott Mauritius Resort to The St. Regis Le Morne Resort, Mauritius, the culinary offering was made a priority. The result is an elevated dining experience centring the signature Le Manoir restaurant, where refined Mauritian curries are brought to life with delicious local ingredients. The restaurant’s French-inspired La Patisserie has also been renovated, providing an updated backdrop to savour its distinctive sweet treats, plus the opportunity to indulge in Afternoon Teas by the sea.
Elsewhere, and the hotel honours one of the brand’s signature traditions by marking sunset with a celebratory champagne sabering at 7pm each evening, while the world-renowned Bloody Mary cocktail, which was first created at The St. Regis New York’s King Cole Bar in 1934, will be presented with local flavours and ingredients. L’île Mary features local Cane Rhum, slowly infused with curry leaves with a touch of mango vinegar, freshly pressed lemon juice, black pepper and cayenne with a ripe tomato juice base, then crowned with masala foam.
“From enhanced dining experiences to curated signature rituals, every detail has been crafted to celebrate the island’s beauty while honouring the traditions of St. Regis,” says Mathieu de Tonnac, General Manager of The St. Regis Le Morne Resort, Mauritius.
