The Candover to open in British countryside

A new country pub with rooms, The Candover, is set to open soon in the Hampshire countryside.

The ten-room property combines traditional pub character with contemporary hospitality and is positioned as a relaxed rural destination for both locals and visitors.

Interiors feature timber and stone flooring, limewashed walls, antique furnishings and log fires. The site includes a 50-cover dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and a pub area with a further 50 seats for walk-in guests, offering pub classics, bar snacks and an à la carte menu.

Food focuses on British dishes cooked over a coal and wood open grill. Drinks include Candover Best, brewed exclusively with Triple fff Brewery, a curated wine list highlighting rare bottles and cider from local maker Hydes.

Outdoor facilities comprise a terrace with bookable tables, a playground, bench seating and a horsebox kitchen operating during summer months.

“With the amazing Hampshire countryside on our doorstep and so few places to stay nearby, The Candover set out to create something special,” says Luke Ashwood, Operations Manager of The Candover, previously of Cubitt House Group. “We’ve shaped it to feel timeless and full of character, offering a high standard of hospitality that stays true to its heritage as a traditional pub. It’s a place locals can be proud of and enjoy and people will love to discover – as welcoming for a pint at the bar as it is for a weekend away.”
