Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch relaunches Jailhouse Bar
Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch is relaunching Jailhouse Bar; a venue that brings history to life in an atmosphere of indulgence.
Set within the walls of the former Old Street Magistrates’ Court and police station, the space was once a holding space for London’s toughest criminals, including the Kray twins.
Its architectural charm, including the five original holding cells that have since been refurbished as a spot to enjoy artisan cocktails, has been carefully preserved and complemented by contemporary design.
The new cocktail menu is inspired by the venue’s rich history. Highlights include The Escape Mule, made with Absolut vodka blue, Fever Tree ginger beer and lemon offering a zesty kick. The Solitary Sunset embraces the season with Bacardo White Rum, orange juice and Grenadine, while for those seeking something bold, The Prison Yard Paloma blends Jose Cuervo Tequila Silver, Fever Tree soda water and lime.
The Jailhouse Bar also offers a refined selection of British comfort food. Guests can indulge in signature Jailhouse Burgers or enjoy an Afternoon Tea experience with a distinctive Shoreditch twist.
