The Lobby at The Hoxton in Edinburgh updates day-to-night programming

The Lobby at The Hoxton in Edinburgh has introduced fresh menus and day-to-night programming for the spring.

A new cocktail menu has been created with post-work drinks, leisurely catch-ups and nightcaps in mind. It offers signature takes on classic serves, reimagined with modern flavours and techniques, from the Ultra White Negroni with Gin Mare, bianco vermouth, crème de cacao and white balsamic to the Strawberry Picante with Mexican chilli-infused Herradura Plata tequila, strawberry, lime and agave.

These sit alongside a selection of frozen sip-size martinis and alcohol-free serves including Sunset Fizz with Pentire Coastal Spritz, Fancy Foamer, lemon and San Pellegrino Limonata. The cocktails are complemented by a handpicked selection of natural wines from Chilean winery Viña Echeverria, as well as classic European wines, draught beers, bottled ciders and an extensive whisky and spirits collection.

Spring also brings a refreshed Lobby food menu, offering small plates, salads and sandwiches for all-day dining. Think haggis bonbons with mustard mayonnaise and deep fried squid with lemon mayonnaise, while the salad bowls feature the House Caesar with aged parmesan, quail’s eggs, Caesar dressing, chicken breast and streaky bacon, and the spring salad with spinach, chicory, charred broccoli, blueberries, pumpkin seeds and house dressing.

Larger plates include steak and fries with peppercorn sauce, and a smash burger with smashed beef patties, Scottish cheese, mayonnaise, house pickles and fries. Those with a sweet tooth can enjoy desserts such as chocolate cookie with toffee fudge ice cream and salted caramel. The Lobby also serves bar snacks designed for late-night grazing, including chorizo bites, pickled quail eggs and mixed house pickles.

On Fridays and Saturdays, The Lobby hosts Sundowner Sessions, transforming the space into a laid-back listening lounge with a rotating programme of vinyl partners mixing timeless classics and deep cuts. There are house sessions from Edinburgh-based DJ Alex Hogan, Cabaret Voltaire regular and creator of post-run pop-up Club Cadence, alongside soul and disco-inspired sets from Glasgow-based Toni McVey, resident DJ at venues including People Leisure Club and Paradise Palms, and Ross Tolley, resident DJ at Edinburgh nightspots Panda & Sons and Uno Mas, bringing funk and jazz-filled sessions to The Lobby.

The Lobby will also launch Board Sundays, a relaxed way to round off the week. Guests can unwind with their favourite board game, to be enjoyed alongside sharing cocktails and The Lobby’s new menu of roasts served family-style. The menu begins with starters including crab crumpet, BBQ corn and aioli or smoked trout rillettes, followed by sharing roasts such as beef ribs, pork chops or miso cauliflower, served with classic trimmings and plenty of gravy. Optional sides include pigs in blankets, brown butter cauliflower gratin and bone marrow with salsa verde, as well as a selection of puddings to finish, from lemon-misu to sticky toffee pudding.

Designed by Aime Studios, Ennismore’s design studio, The Lobby is a welcoming, open house-style space. Thoughtfully layered with warm colours, soft lighting and inviting corners to settle into, it is designed as a place to linger. The Lobby also houses the hotel’s Small Screen, a pocket-sized screening room seating five and available for hire.
