Vintry & Mercer launches circus-themed afternoon tea

Festivities begin early at Vintry & Mercer as the five-star boutique hotel located in the City of London launches its Circus Afternoon Tea on 22 November.

Designed to delight both parents and children, the theatrical new offering combines culinary artistry with childhood nostalgia, bringing the magic, spectacle and wonder of the big top straight to the table.

The experience begins with a selection of savoury dishes, including roast beef with horseradish, Yorkshire pudding and gravy; truffled egg mayonnaise in a brioche bun; coronation chicken with mango chutney; and smoked salmon blinis topped with herb cream cheese. Homemade buttermilk scones served with traditional Cornish clotted cream and strawberry jam follow.

The finale comes in the form of Vintry & Mercer’s pastry parade, featuring The Big Top raspberry and lemon curd mousse; Carousel Macarons with peach and raspberry; Bobo the Clown blackberry and white chocolate cheesecake with Bourbon marble sable; and Popping Apple-Dini, cherry apples coated in fruit pulp and popping candy.

Guests can accompany the experience with specially selected teas, a glass of Charles Heidsieck Brut NV or Rosé Champagne, or the hotel’s exclusive range of tea-infused cocktails.
