Saltire Rare Malt makes US debut in partnership with Steak House Hall of Fame
Saltire Rare Malt, an independent Scotch whisky bottler based in Scotland, has launched in the United States in partnership with Steak House Hall of Fame.
The agreement brings Saltire’s ultra-rare single cask Scotch whiskies to several leading American steakhouses, beginning with locations in Dallas, Oklahoma City and New Orleans.
Saltire Rare Malt is known for curating distinctive, limited-edition single malts, each drawn from a single cask and bottled only when its expert curators judge the spirit to have reached its peak. Guiding this process are Hans and Becky Offringa, known internationally as ‘The Whisky Couple’.
The company’s portfolio includes whiskies drawn from lost distilleries, never to be repeated and destined to become collector’s treasures. The first whiskies available in the US market include Speyside Cask Strength, Tormore and Teaninich, each available exclusively at Steak House Hall of Fame venues.
The rollout begins on September 29 at Bob’s Steak & Chop House in Dallas, followed by Cattlemen’s Steakhouse in Oklahoma City on September 30 and Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse in New Orleans on October 2. Additional launches are planned at The Whaling Station in Monterey and Okeechobee Steakhouse in West Palm Beach.
Distribution is being handled through regional partners including Premium Brands Wine & Spirits, Revolution Wholesale, Artisan Fine Wines and Ben E Keith.
“We are honoured to launch Saltire Rare Malt in the United States alongside the Steak House Hall of Fame,” says Keith Rennie, founder and director of Saltire Rare Malt. “Great whisky and great steak share the same values – heritage, craftsmanship, patience, and passion. This partnership allows us to celebrate those values together with families and restaurants who embody them.”
“Our mission is to honour the legendary steakhouse operators who put their heart, soul and reputation into every meal,” adds Bob Sambol, founder at Steak House Hall of Fame. “Saltire Rare Malt embodies that same spirit in whisky. This partnership is a natural fit.”
Steak House Hall of Fame, founded by Sambol, of the Original Bob’s Steak & Chop House in Dallas, honours the families, owners and operators who put their heart, soul and reputation into every meal served. These steakhouses are defined by exemplary service and rich history which continue to shape America’s steakhouse tradition.
Saltire Rare Malt reflects that same philosophy. The independent bottling company was founded by longtime friends Nigel Heywood and Keith Rennie, whose partnership spans more than three decades. Their shared passion for whisky led them to collect fine and rare single malts, eventually inspiring the creation of Saltire Rare Malt.
