The Connaught collaborates with jeweller Jessica McCormack

Chef-pâtissier Nicolas Rouzaud at The Connaught is starting the year with a collaboration with diamond jeweller Jessica McCormack, creating a limited edition of his annual Galette des Rois.

The Galette des Rois is a centuries-old French tradition symbolising the arrival of the Three Kings at the Nativity. Traditionally, the golden puff pastry is filled with almond frangipane and hides a small fève, or charm, which crowns the finder King or Queen for the day.

Inspired by Rouzaud’s fruit-centric patisseries and McCormack’s Fruit Salad coloured gemstone collection, each galette is decorated with motifs used by both designers. The hidden charms are a colourful array of ceramic fruits, including apples, pear and cherries, however just one galette will contain a lemon fève.

The finder of the lemon will be invited to the Jessica McCormack flagship store at Carlos Place in Mayfiar to receive a private tour and a pair of lemon drop sapphire and diamond Gypset hoop earrings.
