UK hotel restaurants awarded at AA Rosette Spring 2026 awards
The UK’s hotel restaurants took centre stage at the AA Rosette Spring 2026 awards, held at the RAK Ceramics Design Hub in London.
Winners included Michael Caines at The Stafford (included in Supper 45) and Ugly Butterfly by Adam Handling at The Headland Hotel, Newquay, celebrated for its hyperlocal Cornish cuisine. Scotland’s Loma by Graeme Cheevers at Cameron House Hotel also earned three Rosettes.
For the first time, the awards also recognised front-of-house excellence with the inaugural AA Sommelier of the Year Award, which went to Cathryn Bell at Fernery at Grove of Narberth (who we caught up with in Supper 42.) Celebrating exceptional knowledge, instinct and the ability to elevate the guest experience through expertly curated wine pairings, the award recognises those who bring theatre, precision and deep understanding to the floor.
“Our Spring update and the latest set of award recipients once again highlights the strength of the British culinary scene,” says Simon Numphud FIH, Managing Director at AA Media. “The talent, skill and commitment to quality we’ve seen this year in the backdrop of a challenging environment is incredibly inspiring.
“The addition of Sommelier of the Year as part of this year’s awards reflects the modern restaurant experience. The dedication and precision of this year’s Rosette winners set the standard for the industry. They continue to raise the bar and shape a vibrant and innovative British food culture. Congratulations to everyone recognised – this is truly deserved.”
Continuing a long-standing tradition, each Rosette winner is presented with the distinctive RAK Porcelain AA Rosette plate. The venues will also be invited to attend the AA’s main Hospitality Awards.
