Regent Phu Quoc unveils Ocean Club by Benito Gómez

Regent Phu Quoc in Vietnam has unveiled Ocean Club by Benito Gómez, a new Mediterranean dining destination developed in collaboration with the two-Michelin-starred Spanish chef.

Overlooking the beachfront, the restaurant brings Gómez’s ingredient-led approach to Mediterranean cooking to the island, with a menu centred on fish, rice, stews and dishes prepared over fire. Drawing on local produce, the offering is designed around sharing, with seasonal plates accompanied by a selection of wines, cocktails and pairings.

Gómez, whose culinary career spans nearly three decades, is best known for his two-Michelin-starred restaurant Bardal in Ronda, Spain, as well as Tragatá, his tapas restaurant recognised by the Michelin Guide. His cooking places emphasis on quality ingredients, precise techniques and simplicity, an approach that carries through to Ocean Club’s more relaxed beachfront setting.

Designed by Blink Design Group, the venue comprises an indoor dining room, adjoining lounge and outdoor terrace with sun beds. The lighting has been designed to evolve throughout the day, creating a bright, open atmosphere at lunchtime before transitioning to a more intimate setting in the evening.

Beyond the dining offering, Ocean Club will host live music, wine tastings and a programme of events, including seasonal chef-led experiences throughout the year.

“We didn’t want to simply recreate Mediterranean cuisine but rather integrate our way of cooking to this setting,” says Gómez. “It has nothing to do with tablecloths, formal protocols or complicated cooking. It is about the quality of the product, consistency, precision and attention to detail. A restaurant can be informal while still working with an extremely high level of rigour.”

“Above all, I want guests to leave wanting to come back,” he continues. “To feel that they have eaten well, felt comfortable, been well looked after and enjoyed themselves.”

“At Regent Phu Quoc, our commitment is to offer guests culinary experiences that are truly exceptional, and partnering with two-Michelin-starred Chef Benito Gómez is a meaningful expression of that promise. His cuisine brings a distinctive, world-class perspective to Ocean Club, set on an elegant beachfront unlike anything else in Phu Quoc,” shares Juan Losada, General Manager of Regent Phu Quoc. “This partnership reinforces Regent’s dedication to culinary excellence and strengthens Ocean Club’s role within our wider food and beverage offering. It is also a significant step toward our ambition of establishing Regent Phu Quoc as a leading culinary destination in Vietnam, bringing the finest local and internationally acclaimed talent and experiences to the island.”
