Alpine-inspired outdoor dining concept to open at Grantley Hall

This November, Grantley Hall in Yorkshire will launch Après at The Orchard, an alpine-inspired winter drinking and dining concept.

The arrival of the Après at The Orchard is set to make a splash on the local dining scene this winter, with alpine-inspired dishes and glamorous interiors oozing chalet chic.

Après at The Orchard is set underneath a sailcloth marquee – adorned with festive decorations, cosy blankets and alpine touches – located on the West Terrace with sweeping views of the manicured West Lawn towards the River Skell.

This season’s launch comes with a new menu celebrating après-favourites including a traditional cheese fondue served with Black Forrest ham, coppa, Ratte potatoes, cornichons, pickled onions and sourdough; caramelised French onion soup with Gruyère croutons; chargrilled hickory smoked sausages; Nidderdale lamb shoulder ragu; and melting Valrhona hot chocolate cake with malted milk chocolate sauce and homemade marshmallows.

The opening will be marked by a launch party on 6 November, bringing a celebration of togetherness through a Moët & Chandon collaboration. A selection of Moët & Chandon cocktails will be served, while canapes will seek to transport guests to the alpine slopes. The party will then move down to Valeria’s Champagne & Cocktail Bar.

Grantley Hall opened its doors in July 2019. Owner and Yorkshire local, Valeria Sykes spent three and a half years restoring the Grade II*-listed mansion house back to its original Palladian splendour.

Located in the heart of the rolling Yorkshire countryside with its own English Heritage-listed Japanese garden, the historic property, a member of the prestigious association of hotels and restaurants Relais & Châteaux and features 47 rooms and suites, as well as several F&B concepts including Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall, Bar & Restaurant EightyEight and Fletchers Restaurant, as well an afternoon tea offering.
