The rooftop terrace at Gigi Rigolatta Roma, atop the Orient Express La Minerva Hotel, has reopened for the summer period.
Overlooking the rooftops of Rome and located just steps from the Pantheon, Gigi welcomes the season with its signature Mediterranean cuisine, Bellini Bar, and one of the city’s most memorable terrace dining experiences.
The culinary offering takes its cue from the sharing spirit of Italian dining. From the delicate flavours of the red prawns carpaccio to the more intense notes of the clams spaghetti with bottarga, through to the rich and flavourful tagliolini with langoustine tartare and lime, each dish celebrates the freshness of the ingredients and the elegance of Mediterranean simplicity.
Other mains include seared tuna garnished with a Mediterranean concassé and a sweet and sour sauce, and the veal Milanese. Desserts including pannacotta with berries and the restaurant’s citrus sorbet conclude the experience.
Meanwhile, the Bellini Bar is a sunset gathering point where a selection of new cocktails inspired by the iconic melodies of the Italian dolce vita are served. The Abbronzatissima blends tequila, red pepper, mango, honey, jalapeño, lime and tajín blend into an intense and vibrant cocktail, while the Bello e Impossibile is a frozen aperitivo, mixing Altamura Distilleries Vodka with the fruity notes of Cordusio Aperitivo, strawberry, lemon, basil and Moscato d’Asti.
Designed by architect Hugo Toro, Gigi’s warm and welcoming atmosphere is defined by niche materials with richly contrasting woods, timeless Roman travertine and yellow Siena marbles which, with quiet elegance, create a contemporary interpretation of the celebrated golden age of travel.
