Ten lucky diners will get to experience the skills of talented chef Fez Ozalgan up close and personal from Wednesday 25 September, when Penelope’s launches an intimate new dining experience at its chef’s counter. Winner of Best Luxury Restaurant at the 2024 British Restaurant Awards, Penelope’s is located within Hotel AMANO Covent Garden, and with this new weekly event, offers an intimate, one-of-a-kind dining occasion spotlighting Chef Ozalgan’s vibrant, creative cuisine.
The specially crafted menu begins with manakish, served with miso honey butter and mushroom hummus. It continues with whipped cod’s roe topped with trout caviar; chicken pastel accompanied by chicken aioli; and lamb sweetbread with chicken jus, tarragon and seaweed. A crab tostada topped with za’atar follows, as well as charred celeriac with herby pil pil and caper zhug, and burnt leeks with almond ajo blanco and preserved lemon tapenade. Spanish Wagyu striploin served with date jus and almond salsa macha is the main event, and the experience culminates with milhojas filled with pistachio cream and a dollop of coconut ice cream. A welcome cocktail or glass of bubbly is also included.
Taking place every Wednesday from 7pm, early booking is highly recommended, with reservations available up to two days before the event.
