The Lanesborough celebrates Austria’s most iconic desserts

The Lanesborough invites guests to indulge in a taste of Viennese heritage with an exclusive pop-up celebrating two of Austria’s most iconic desserts.

For a limited period, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the Original Sacher-Torte and traditional Apple Strudel served in collaboration with Vienna’s Hotel Sacher Wien.

Created in 1832 by Franz Sacher and guarded by a closely held recipe, the Original Sacher-Torte is a piece of Austrian history. The dessert is still handmade in 34 individual steps, layered with apricot jam, finished with its distinctive chocolate glaze and best enjoyed with unsweetened whipped cream. Alongside it, a classic Apple Strudel is delicately filled with spiced apples and wrapped in paper-thin pastry, offering an equally authentic taste of Austrian café culture.

Both delicacies are served daily and paired with the hotel’s Sacher-style coffee selections.
