The London hotel’s signature restaurant, Whitcomb’s, has come up with a culinary antidote to any festive over-indulgence in the form of a vegan set menu that will be served throughout the year. Curated by Head Chef Shailesh Deshmukh, the offering begins with dishes such as tartare d’asperges (a chopped asparagus tartare served with an almond aioli), or a carpaccio of Portobello mushrooms. This is followed by risotto aux truffes et champignons – an indulgent and nutty risotto – or courgette spaghetti served with chilli and lemon. Plant-based side dishes include pan-seared chestnut mushrooms with garlic and thyme, while sweet teeth are also catered for, with forêt-noire – Whitcomb’s signature dessert of dark chocolate mousse, served with amarena cherries – rounding out the menu.

For those undertaking dry January, The Londoner’s lobby bar, The Stage, is also serving a series of brand-new cocktails packed with fruit and vegetables. From 5-31 January, the series of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will offer guests a rejuvenating experience that delivers plenty of key vitamins for starting the new year on a healthy note. Cocktails will include a subtle and aromatic Chamomile & Lychee Martini – an infusion of soothing chamomile tea, lychee liqueur, Belvedere vodka finished with champagne – alongside Garden Margarita – a delicate take on the classic blended with refreshing sugar snaps and English mint. Alcohol-free options include a Beet Virgin Mary that combines earthy notes of beetroot and spice with fresh tomato juice.
