The Stafford London is launching a new afternoon tea experience, served up inside The Game Bird restaurant and interconnected drawing rooms.

Served from a new bespoke cake trolley for an added sense of theatre, the experience will allow guests to peruse a wide array of cakes and pastries and make their selection. Recipes have been created collaboratively by Magdalena Velczenbach, The Stafford’s Head Pastry Chef, and Lisa Goodwin-Allen, Executive Chef of Michelin-starred Northcote, who oversees menu direction at The Stafford.

The Stafford London Afternoon Tea Cakes

Naturally, the experience at The Stafford London begins with sandwiches and scones served on a traditional cake stand, alongside coffee or a selection of teas from Camelia’s Tea House. Finger sandwiches will include H. Forman & Son smoked salmon with horseradish crème fraîche on granary bread, and honey roasted ham and mustard mayonnaise on onion bread, alongside a Truffle egg bun.

The new cake trolley will be presented tableside, with each guest able to select five seasonal cakes or pastries from the display. Sweet treats include raspberry, apple and elderflower macaroons; coffee choux buns; vanilla and raspberry white mice; lemon and basil tarts; and Earl Grey and honey layer cake.
