Dorchester Collection’s Hotel Bel-Air reinvents all-day dining venue
Dorchester Collection’s Hotel Bel-Air unveils a reinvention of its all-day dining venue, The Restaurant.
A fresh design leans on the hotel’s signature blush colour bringing a lighter, more luminous aesthetic to the outdoor dining space. A marble bar serves as a welcoming gathering spot for pre or post-dinner cocktails, while the dining alcoves provide enhanced privacy.
Under the direction of culinary director Joe Garcia, the new look arrives in tandem with the summer season, debuting a menu that celebrate California’s sun-soaked bounty.Building on The Restaurant’s signature comfort classics, new standouts include HBA Iceberg Salad, prepared with peak-market ingredients; a crispy skin Loup de Mer, featuring eggplant caviar, roasted sweet peppers, tomato confit, garden basil and finished with a saffron bouillon; and Sweet Corn Agnolotti enriched with butter poached Maine lobster, preserved lemon and compressed French tarragon.
A Garden Spritz Menu inspired by the citrus groves and botanicals flourishing across the property’s lush grounds is served exclusively in The Restaurant, with five refreshing variations: Strawberry Spritz with house-infused Aperol and fresh strawberries; Grapefruit Spritz with mezcal and fresh-squeezed grapefruit; Lemon Spritz featuring Hotel Bel-Air’s own lemons and bright limoncello; Peach Spritz with Juliette peach liqueur; and Elderflower Spritz featuring floral notes of St-Germain.
A new tradition invites guests to linger a little longer beneath The Restaurant’s blooming bougainvillea as the estate debuts a new Sunday Night Dinner experience on the first Sunday of each month, featuring a family-style menu that shifts with the season as curated by Garcia.
The Restaurant will also introduce a vintage-inspired pastry cart presented tableside. The roving cart features a rotating selection of seasonal pastries from the onsite cafe, The Patisserie, including flaky almond croissants, signature cream puffs and house-made cinnamon rolls.
“With its bright colourful accents and nature-infused design elements, The Restaurant’s fresh new look and feel is the perfect way to welcome the summer season,” says General Manager Christoph Moje.“Complementing the redesign is a market-driven menu which showcases seasonal ingredients and playful twists on classic favourites.
“This specialty dining experience, combined with the fun-filled summer schedule taking place throughout the hotel, is a perfect reflection of our legendary heritage thoughtfully paired with modern-day enhancements.”
