Rockliffe Hall reveals six-strong lineup of new F&B

Rockliffe Hall in the North of England has revealed the full lineup of six new distinctive dining and bar experiences.

Alongside Atlas by James & Maria Close, a newly built, 36-cover standalone restaurant, the resort will include Rialto, an all day Italian American restaurant; Ro, a cocktail bar with Japanese influence; The Morning Room for afternoon tea; Café Terra, a boutique café; and The Clubhouse, a sports bar concept.

As part of a multimillion-pound property renovation, Culinary Director James Close and his wife Maria are focused on creating distinct venues that combine expertise and flavour-led experiences with sociable spaces that evolve throughout the day. This culinary development accompanies the transformation of the resort’s Grade II listed building, including new suites and redesigned communal areas.

Rialto is set to become the social heart of Rockliffe Hall, a bright, spacious restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, spritz-led afternoons and family style evenings. The à la carte offering reflects the warmth of Italian American hospitality, with sharing dishes, high quality pasta and the theatre of tableside finishes. The wine list will highlight handpicked Italian and emerging American producers.

At Ro, an intimate cocktail bar, the focus shifts to Japanese precision with izakaya style dishes such as Wagyu sando, smashed cucumbers and chicken karaage with togarashi ranch dip and optional caviar. A bespoke vault will house an exclusive cocktail selection using rare and vintage spirits from the 1930s to the 1960s, alongside a curated list of Japanese whisky and sake.

In The Morning Room, Head Pastry Chef Ashleigh Pitcher presents a British afternoon tea experience paired with a wide range of champagnes, English sparkling wines and speciality teas. Elsewhere, Café Terra will continue to evolve as a boutique café serving hotel guests, spa visitors and locals in a bright, airy setting, with takeaway options available. The bakery offering, led by Maria Close, expands from classic croissants to signature variations such as tiramisu and orange and marzipan, alongside savoury options including croque monsieur.

Overlooking the championship golf course, The Clubhouse remains a relaxed setting for members and guests, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu balances familiar favourites such as chicken wings, burgers and lobster rolls with Indian-inspired dishes including tandoori jumbo prawns, chaat puri and a house curry in the style of tikka masala.
