This November, The Westin London City will debut two dining destinations on the North Bank of the River Thames.
The hotel’s wine bar takes its inspiration from the hotel’s surroundings and is aptly named Hithe + Seek, reflecting both the element of discovery that can be found within and its location overlooking historic Queenhithe. The second destination venue, Mosaic, is an all-day city dining destination that features nutritious dishes from around the globe alongside local London favourites.
Hithe + Seek
Hithe + Seek is set at the heart of the hotel and features Plush furnishings and modern finishes that create an intimate atmosphere. The eclectic wine list, made up of 80 references, is carefully split into two sections – Hithe, which features a selection of familiar favourites and Seek which showcases undiscovered gems hand-picked for diners looking to expand their palate.
Following suit, the culinary offering combines recipes from old and new world wine producing countries, resulting in a menu of small plates designed to bring people together through sharing and pairing with grapes specially selected by Erin Summers, the hotel’s Wine Curator.
From grilled Galatian octopus, set on a bed of rice with saffron aioli, to wild trout tiradito accompanied by crispy quinoa, the plates have been created to complement the wine on offer.
In addition, those hoping to expand their wine knowledge and palates can join Hithe + Seek’s monthly wine club. Led by Summers, the club provides members with access to monthly wine tastings hosted by winemakers and distributers, an exclusive discount at the hotel’s dining and wellness venues, access to bespoke tours and events and tips on the best wines to try each season.
Mosaic
Named after the colourful artwork commissioned for the front of the hotel; at all-day dining restaurant Mosaic, dishes from around the world unite, resulting in a sustainably sourced menu. Located on the fourth floor, where the north and south sides of the hotel merge, its city-facing location makes it the ideal destination for lunches or after work dinners and drinks. Key to Mosaic’s offering is the Westin Eat Well menu, which features fresh dishes from crispy prawn stir-fry to hand-dived scallop ceviche.
At the centre of the restaurant, the transitional bar serves up freshly prepared juices by day and champagne by night. In partnership with The Juicery, fresh presses will be available from breakfast through to late afternoon, and as night falls, guests can spend their evening sipping on chilled flutes of Taittinger whilst overlooking the bustling city beneath. In addition, the carefully curated Crafted at Westin cocktail menu features a collection of beverages infused with natural ingredients and fresh local flavours.
